Lakshmi Narain College of Pharmacy, Bhopal has successfully organized an expert session to celebrate National Science day 2025 on Topic “Basics of Intellectual Property Rights and its importance for Innovators and Entrepreneurs”on 27th February2025. The event was organized under the IIC 7.0 Quarter II activities and aimed to foster awareness of intellectual property rights (IPR) and their critical role in innovation and entrepreneurship. The speaker of the session was Ms. Aparna Pandharkar, Indian Patent Agent and Startup Facilitator, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
The session was commenced with welcoming of our resource person Ms. Aparna Pandharkar by Dr. Parul Mehta, Convener, IIC-LNCP & Director LNCP.

Ms. Pandharkar introduced the concept of intellectual property rights, explaining their fundamental categories, such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs. She outlined the legal frameworks that protect intellectual property in India and globally.
The speaker highlighted how intellectual property rights safeguard the interests of innovators and entrepreneurs by preventing unauthorized use of their creations. Key points included in the session to encouraging Innovation, to handle market Competitiveness and Monetization Opportunities.
