The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of LNCT&S has organized the session for B.Tech third semester students titled “Smart Applications-An Application of Internet-Of-Things and Machine Learning” on 7th December 2022.
The expert “Dr. Haroon Rashid Lone, IISER, Bhopal”, has been awarded Post Doctorate from University of Virginia and Ph.D. from IIIT- Delhi with many publications in esteemed journals.
He briefed the students about the importance of IOT, which opens up the possibility of making decisions based on the collected data. The collected data can be used in various scripts to make certain conclusions. The conclusions made are generally in graph format. He even summarized the various stages of the data processing techniques.
The expert demonstrated the implementation of machine learning techniques in the collected data. The preferred technique for the same is ‘Clustering’. The anomaly detection becomes easier in this approach.
He exemplified the usage of Raspberry pi, which can be reciprocated by the economical devices such as AURDINO and ESP32. Dr. Haroon sir exhibited many devices like CT, Raspberry pi board, smart meters etc. He recommended that the student must seek their career in this field by practicing the code in “Tinkercad” which is open software. The students were very enthusiastic to experience the applications of IOT in real life.
