LNCT&S proudly launched its Anti-Ragging Week, running from August 12 to August 18, 2024, with an impactful opening event hosted by Prof. Shivani Sant. This initiative is dedicated to combating the menace of ragging, promoting a campus culture grounded in kindness, empathy, and respect.

Ragging is a grave issue that can severely affect students’ physical and mental well-being, violating human rights and leading to depression, anxiety, and even suicide. Our institute upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy against ragging, and this week, we are observing the Anti-Ragging Awareness Mahotsav to reinforce this stance.
Opening Ceremony:
The event commenced with an inspiring speech by Dr. V.N Bartaria, who underscored the importance of this initiative and reiterated the college’s unwavering commitment to its anti-ragging policies. He encouraged students to report any incidents of ragging they witness, assuring them of confidentiality and support. Dr. Bartaria called for collective unity against ragging.
Dr. Amitbodh Upadhyay addressed the students, urging them to abstain from ragging and to focus on their academic and professional growth. He highlighted the consequences of ragging and emphasized the significance of NPTEL certifications.
Dr. Ashish Kumar Khare, Chairman of the ARC Committee, elaborated on the committee’s role in supporting students and ensuring compliance with anti-ragging regulations. He introduced the members of the ARC Committee:
- Dr. Deepak Tomar – Squad Head
- Prof. Prashant Pandey – Deputy Squad Head
- Dr. Sanjeet Kumar – In-charge for escorting first-year students
- Prof. Susheel Chourey – In-charge of the Anti-Ragging Committee for Students
Dr. Khare condemned ragging as a heinous crime and reaffirmed the institute’s zero-tolerance policy.
Dr. Bhupesh Gour and Dr. Abhinav Bhargava also shared their perspectives, with Dr. Gour emphasizing that LNCT&S is committed to being a ragging-free campus, dedicated to providing excellent placements and technical education.
Several students, including Shivam Kashyap, Deepak Kumar, Kritika, Abhinav Kumar, Priya Kumari, Pragati Raghuwanshi, and Sourav Patel, voiced their support for the anti-ragging movement, advocating for a healthy and inclusive environment for first-year students.

- August 14, 2024: Seminar on Anti-Ragging by the EC Department.
- August 16, 2024: Debate Competition by the CSE Department.
- August 17, 2024: Documentary Screening on Anti-Ragging by the CSE-AIML Department.
Students are encouraged to actively participate in these activities and contribute to the success of the Anti-Ragging Mahotsav.

The event concluded with the official launch of Anti-Ragging Week and a collective pledge to say no to ragging and yes to a safe and happy campus life. Students were commended for their confidence and solidarity in standing against ragging.
