The central concern of my doctoral work is the study of Very Low Frequency (VLF) Phenomena at Antarctica: Coordinated Observation and Analysis. During the course of this work, we have carried out coordinated study at several low latitude stations like Bhopal, Varanasi, Jammu and Agra, which are situated at different geomagnetic latitudes. We have reported many types of VLF emissions in these ports of Northern Hemisphere. The subsequent part of this work was to study the VLF phenomena at high latitude Indian station, Maitri, Antarctica. I am among the few privileged scientific have gain the opportunity to participate in the XIX Indian Antarctic Expedition of Government of India. I was the summer member for XIX Indian Antarctic Expedition team during December 1999 – March 2000 and also the member of XXVII IAE during Dec 2007 – April 2008. I have been visited Department of Pure and Applied Physics, University of Natal, South Africa under DST Programme of Science & Technology Programme of Cooperation (POC) of Science & Technology and worked with Prof. A. R. W. Hughes, Director, South African Antarctic Programme and Professor of Physics, University of Natal, South Africa.

Organic photochemistry is of considerable importance of organic compounds, including natural products, which are otherwise difficult to obtain . In the thesis , phototransformation of nicotine, quinine, atropine etc. by UV light reported , These findings may have some hearings on the effect of light on the pharmacological activity of these compounds, in future.
