Equipment repair organisation of Defence Forces provides intimate repair to a wide range of equipment from ordinary to most sophisticated ones deployed in all types of terrains such as desert, mountains, high altitudes and plains. The significance of quality management in engineering support of equipment has become very acute, due to the high costs associated with equipment defects in terms of loss of operational advantage in the face of enemy, loss of timely availability of critical equipment, loss of life of soldiers, and high cost in removal of defects in difficult locations. It is in this backdrop, a comprehensive empirical research in equipment repair organisation is undertaken to enrich the knowledge of TQM and its practice in the equipment repair organisation.

4.Brief  write-up about your research workThis work deals with conventional (i.e., Delta-Omega) and multiband power system stabilizers for an interconnected power system. This attempts to apply Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) & Interactive Artificial Bee Colony algorithms (IABC) optimization method to tuning of parameters of conventional PSS and multiband powers system stabilizers. The proposed ABC&IABC algorithms are easy to implement without additional computational complexity, thereby they give quite promising results. The effectiveness of the proposed stabilizer, for power system stability improvement, is demonstrated by a weakly connected power system subjected to severe disturbance.The proposed ABC & IABC optimization techniques work well for single machine and multimachine power system. The performance of proposed PSS & MBPSS has been tested over a wide range of operating conditions for small and large disturbances.
