The LNCT Group organized MUN 2.0, and today marked the inaugural ceremony held at the Lakshmi Narain College of Technology, Excellence auditorium. Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation where students learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations.
The event commenced with a speech from our esteemed chief guest The National Chair, Yuva
Young Indians & CII, Group Director, Training and Placement Department Professor Dr. Anuj Garg. In his address, he emphasized the importance of understanding global issues and the role of youth in shaping the future. He stated, “In a world that is increasingly interconnected, it is imperative for young minds to engage in discussions that transcend borders and cultures.” He also highlighted the value of critical thinking and diplomacy, encouraging participants to “embrace diverse perspectives and work towards collaborative solutions.”
Following Professor Garg’s speech, a Video message from Tim Curtis UNESCO New Delhi, presented reinforcing the significance of MUN in promoting peace and international cooperation.
The event continued with brief introductions of the Executive Board (EB) members of the four committees namely UNSC, WHO, UN WOMEN, LOK SABHA.
The Executive boards will play pivotal roles in guiding the committee sessions and ensuring productive debates.
Speeches were then delivered by The Secretary General Miss. Tanya Purohit, Deputy secretary general Mr.Milind Pandey and The organising committee head Mr.Athar Khan ,who inspired the delegates with their insights and enthusiasm for the sessions ahead.
Then, the delegates proceeded to their respective committees and the inaugural event concluded with the commencement of the committee sessions, where delegates began their discussions on various global issues in their respective committees, setting the environment for a dynamic and engaging MUN conference.
